Even though you have the newest iPhone, your information might not be safe unless you take steps to protect it. I’ll explain some easy things you can do to keep your private data safe in case your iPhone is stolen. Right now, I’m using iOS 17.2.1, and by the time you read this, there might be even more security options on your iPhone.

1. Set a strong iPhone Passcode.

Your iPhone passcode is important, and it’s better to have a strong one. When you first set up your iPhone, you’ll be asked to create a passcode. You can make it either 4 or 6 digits, but for more security, go for the alphanumeric option. When picking a passcode, it’s smart to follow these tips:

  • Avoid easy ones like 123456, 000000, 111111, etc.
  • Choose at least a 6-digit passcode, and if you can, go for an alphanumeric one for even better security.

2. Enable “Find My” and “Send Last Location”.
